Taking in the absolute best of the Highlands, the emphasis here is on team work, fun and a real sense of achievement. Taking in the absolute best of the Highlands, the emphasis here is on team work, fun and a real sense of achievement. With approximately two thirds of each route on minor roads, there’s also the 12km and 21km off-road sections to keep you on your toes (or in your saddle), giving you every possible perspective on the natural beauty of Loch Lyon and Loch Tay. The challenge is tackled by teams of four wanting to beat the 12-hour mark, with three routes: gold, 82 miles; silver, 65 miles; and bronze, 53 miles. The bronze challenge has a real family focus, the silver should be achievable by anyone with 2-3 months of focused training under their belts, and the gold’s a real test of anyone’s mental and physical reserves. All riders finish at the same point, greeted by a Scottish piping band, bouncy castles, ceilidh band, sumptuous dinner and a fireworks show to make a real weekend celebration of it. How much? |
