The most important ingredients are: CARBOHYDRATES
Your body needs carbohydrates to perform. These are stored in muscles and in the liver as glycogen stores. At certain activity levels when glycogen stores have been depleted the body will turn to protein not fat to provide on-going energy. This would lead to a breakdown of muscle tissue to cover the energy shortfall.
Tip: Eat energy-rich products before exercise to support and extend training endurance.
Try a Multi Carbo bar >> with caffeine during exercise to ensure your energy levels are met.
MINERALS AND VITAMINS
Minerals such as sodium, potassium and especially magnesium are lost through perspiration during exercise and any deficiency will quickly lead to cramps. Vitamins are important to support the body's immune system.
FLUID
When the body is active a large amount of energy is released in the form of heat. To prevent the body from overheating it controls its temperature through perspiration. The more intensive the exercise, the more the body temperature rises and the more you sweat; up to 2 litres can be lost in an hour.
Tip: Don’t wait until you are thirsty, drink plenty of fluid before, during and after exercise.
